When I think of the country Belgium, I always think about the delicious Belgian waffles. However, when I traveled to Bruges, Belgium, I discovered more. Did you know it’s a multilingual and multicultural country with three official languages (Dutch (Flemish), French, and German)?
Did you also know that what we know as French fries actually originated in Belgium? Belgium certainly has an interesting history, colorful architecture, and a variety of chocolate and waffles you can’t leave without trying!

I forgot the exact name of this restaurant/café (above) where I ate, but it’s located in one of those preserved guild houses with a beautiful view.

You’ll find that many of the colorful and beautifully preserved guild houses are now cafés and restaurants where you can sit under their historic gables while enjoying Belgian specialties.
15.Try delicious Belgian Crème brûlée
When I tried Belgian Crème Brûlée, I was surprised that it’s actually one of the best Crème Brûlées I’ve had! There’s something unique about it that makes it extra delicious!
If you have a sweet tooth and love trying desserts from different countries, do not miss treating yourself to a rich, creamy Belgian twist on the classic crème brûlée—crispy caramelized top, silky custard underneath. It’s so delicious!

Travel Tip: You’ll never know what you can find that you’ll like while going to these cute and colorful stores! I bought a uniquely made wooden travel comb that I found and really liked!
