- Location: Diamond Beach
- What to expect | Tips: You have to take a boat to get here (you may get wet). Wear comfortable shoes because there are a lot of steps to get to the swing area. The steep and challenging descent is definitely worth the effort though. Lastly, consider packing a long dress to change into if you want your dress to flow in your photos!

2. Walk around the Ulun Danu Bratan Temple
- Location: Ulun Danu Bratan Temple
- What to expect | Tips: Dress modestly. Expect to pay an entrance fee. Boat rides and a photographer are available on-site for a fee. Consider visiting Handara Gate as it is just a short drive from this temple.

3. Photograph the Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida
- Location: Kelingking Beach Nusa Penida
- What to expect | Tips: The hike down to the beach is tough. It’s important to note that the best pictures are taken from above. Consider booking a private guide as they know the easiest and most beautiful spots without the crowd. I didn’t have to hike to get this shot. This is where I booked my tour.

4. Explore Diamond Beach
- Location: Diamond Beach
- What to expect | Tips:The top viewpoint offers one of the best Bali’s views! Expect rocky, narrow, and steep paths when you visit the beach. So, wear comfortable shoes, apply sunscreen, and don’t forget to hydrate! For softer lighting for pictures and fewer crowds, consider going early in the morning (before 9 AM).

5. Take pictures at Thousand Islands Viewpoint
- Location: Thousand Islands Viewpoint, Nusa Penida
- What to expect: There were no safety barriers when I visited, so be cautious around cliffs. Wear your best shoes because the paths are steep and rough. Wear a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, and water because there isn’t any shade here.The ideal times to capture pictures are in the early morning or late afternoon.

6. Visit Bali’s Rumah Pohon Treehouse
- Location: Rumah Pohon Treehouse, Nusa Penida
- What to expect | Tips: Expect to be in line because it’s a well-known location for picturesque photos. So try to arrive early. For the experience, you can spend the evening in the treehouse, but make reservations in advance because space fills up quickly. Be cautious of the steep steps when you visit Nusa Penida!

7. Walk along the Bali Handara Gate
- Location: Handara Golf & Resort
- What to expect | Tip: Please note this is a brief photo op at Handara Golf & Resort’s entrance. However, keep an eye out for cars coming and going. Arrive early because there may be a line. Since Ulun Danu Bratan Temple is close by, consider visiting as well.

8. Explore Pura Luhur Lempuyang – Temple in the Sky
- Location: Pura Luhur Lempuyang (The Gate of Heaven)
- What to expect | Tip: Dress modestly. Sarongs are necessary here. I purchased my own to wear. Expect to see Mount Agung and long lines. If you want clear skies and fewer people, arrive before 7am. Local photographers use a mirror trick to produce the “reflection” look in what you see in Instagram photos.

9. Feed the fishes at Tirta Gangga Water Palace
Feed the Koi fish for a fun experience and a chance to take pictures.
- Location: Tirta Gangga Water Palace
- What to expect | Tip: It was fascinating to watch the enormous Koi fish swim beneath and follow me as I walked on the stepping stones. Expect to see koi-filled ponds, verdant gardens, and statues and carvings made of Balinese stone. For a hassle-free experience, it is best to schedule a private trip with a private driver/guide. I made my reservation here. They handled everything including entrance fees and purchase of the fish food.

10. See the Tukad Cepung Waterfall
- Location: Tukad Cepung Waterfall
- What to expect: Inside a hidden cave, you can anticipate seeing a breathtaking waterfall and the sunbeam effect that casts a wonderful glow. It takes about fifteen to twenty minutes to get inside. Expect to get your feet wet as you traverse a shallow river, steps, and jungle walkways. So, consider packing extra clothing. Wear appropriate footwear because some areas may be slippery. Avoid going after a heavy rain because the trail could turn muddy.
- Tip: For a hassle-free experience, it is best to schedule a private trip with a private driver. I made my reservation here. They handled everything (including entrance fees). As a solo traveler, I appreciated that my private tour driver/guide took photos of me as well.

- What to expect: Safety First: Swings are equipped with harnesses. You can anticipate stunning views of verdant rice terraces and jungles while riding the exciting swings.
- Tip: I had to ask take the my photos from afar for better pictures. Wear a flowing clothing for beautiful photos.

12. Experience Bali spiritual cleansing at Pura Tirta Empul
- Location: Pura Tirta Empul – Bali’s Sacred Water Temple
- What to expect | Tip: Anticipate a tranquil setting for meditation and purification in the holy spring pools. In the belief that the water purifies the body and spirit, both locals and visitors take baths beneath the thirteen stone fountains. When dipping under the fountains, there is a certain order to follow; your local guide can give you instructions. Bring a towel and additional clothing.

- Location:Pura Puseh Desa Batuan
- What to expect | Tip: Discover the profound cultural significance of Balinese history, architecture, and spirituality at this hidden gem of Balinese temple art, which features elaborate stone carvings and tall shrines. Admire the numerous carvings that portray old Balinese mythology and Hindu epics. Sarongs are necessary, so dress modestly.

- Location: Tegalalang Rice Terraces
- What to expect: Appreciate the stunning rice fields, beautiful terraces, and verdant tropical landscape. The rainy season (November to March) is the ideal time of year for verdant fields. You may stroll through rice paddies and take in the serene surroundings. For the complete experience, combine it with a Bali swing.

15. Explore Tegenungan Village Waterfall
- Location: Tegenungan Village
- What to expect | Tips: There are perhaps 150–200 steps leading down to the waterfall from the entryway. Because the rocks can be slippery, wear suitable footwear. Although the waterfall is strong all year round, the wet season (November to March) is when it is most stunning.

16. Meet a Balinese elephant up close
- Location: Bali Zoo
- What to expect | Tip: In search of a special and moral approach to engage with Bali’s elephants!? You get to feed, wash, and play in the mud with these kind giants in a responsible and safe atmosphere rather than riding them. Join the elephants as they roll, splash, and cover themselves in mud to protect their skin as you enter a mud pool. Bring a towel, sunscreen, and a change of clothes.

17. See the rock formation at Tanah Lot
- Location: Tanah Lot – Sea Temple
- What to expect:One of Bali’s top places to see sunsets is Tanah Lot, which also has local markets and shops along with cultural performances. In the evening, traditional Kecak fire dance performances take place nearby. It can be rocky in certain places so wear comfortable shoes. For the best views, go between 5-7 PM, when the sun is setting. Be careful of high tides.

18. Photograph Taman Dedari’s majestic sculptures
- Location: Taman Dedari Restaurant
- What to expect: See the gigantic stone angel statues, a hidden gem in Ubud that offers exquisite Balinese food, stunning surroundings, and a peaceful atmosphere. I tried a variety of cool tropical drinks, including the Bebek Betutu, a Balinese duck cooked slowly. It was delicious!

- Location: Betari Bali Seafood in Kedonganan, near Jimbaran Bay in Bali
- What to expect: See live and fresh seafood! Savor a variety of seafood dishes while taking in the view from the beach. If you want to see the sunset over Jimbaran Bay in the evening, think about booking a reservation.

21. Relax on a sofa Bali Swing with Gunung Lempuyang backdrop

- What to expect: You can have your photos taken by a local who’s already there at the spot. That’s what happened when I went there and just gave him a tip.

- Location: Blooms Garden Ulun Danu Beratan
- What to expect: See hidden Instagrammable photo spots with colorful flower fields and the lovely flower park, which is a floral paradise with a wide range of flowers such as marigolds, lavender, sunflowers, and roses. Combine this day tour visit with Bali Botanic Gardens, Wanagiri Hidden Hills, Handara Gate, and Ulun Danu Beratan Temple.

23. Explore the Campuhan Ridge Walk
- Location: Campuhan Ridge Walk
- What to expect: Expect walk of thirty to forty-five minutes. Remember to wear comfy shoes. You can either find a local guide and tip him, or you can go alone. Take a beautiful stroll through the outdoors at dawn or dusk. For cooler weather and better lighting, it is best to visit in the early morning (6–8 AM) or late afternoon (4-6 PM).While the sunset view gives a breathtaking golden glow over the hills, the sunrise walk offers a delightfully calm experience. At the end of the trail, there are little local cafés where you can get smoothie bowls, Balinese coffee, or fresh coconut water.

24. Visit Gunung Lebah Temple Ubud
- Location: At the start of Campuhan Ridge Walk
- What to expect: Surrounded by flowing rivers and jungle, this small but significant temple creates a serene and spiritual atmosphere. Dress modestly. Enjoy seeing the traditional Balinese sculptures and architecture here. The temple is the first stop before your lovely nature walk, as it is located directly at the entrance of the Campuhan Ridge Walk.

- Location: Tanjung Benoa Beach
- What to expect | Tip: If you’re interested in seeing lots of turtles, then the Turtle Island Glass Bottom Boat Tour is for you. Unfortunately, I came here on my last day and only had time to do parasailing. Tanjung Benoa Beach offers more water sports like banana boat ride, jet skiing, flyboarding, and sea walking. Bring waterproof phone cases if you intend to participate in water-based activities. Consider getting a spa treatment or spending an evening at the Devdan Show, a Bengalese cultural performance, if you’re staying close to Nusa Dua’s luxury resorts and spas.

- Location: Across Pura Luhur Lempuyang (The Gate of Heaven)
- What to expect: Along the temple staircases across the Gates of Heaven are sculptures of guarding dragons. In Bali, temples, water palaces, and other sacred locations are home to magnificent dragon sculptures, which in Balinese Hinduism stand for strength, protection, and spiritual vitality. It is thought that these dragons, which are frequently referred to as Naga (Nāga), protect temple gateways and water sources.

- What to expect: Tea and refreshments were provided at the start. Palm readings take 30 to 1 hour. Her statements regarding my past, present, and future sparked my interest and made me want to learn more. Prepare your questions in advance if there’s something you’re curious about.

32. Catch the purple-pink sunset at a cliffside sea temple
- Location: Uluwatu Temple
- What to expect: Admire breathtaking views of the sunset as the waves crash against the rocks. Visit in the late afternoon (4 PM to sunset) to see the cliffside sea temple and watch Bali’s Kecak dance. Wear modest clothing. Avoid carrying food or wearing loose accessories around monkeys. Purchase your Kecak Fire Dance tickets in advance.

34. Experience Bali Spa and flower bath (on your first and last day)
- Location: Prana Spa Seminyak
- What to expect: Indulge in a signature spa treatment in a uniquely designed atmosphere. The external and interior decorations were visually appealing, and the special signature spa provided a peaceful and opulent setting. If you’re looking for a unique spa experience and a traditional Balinese massage to revitalize your body and mind, Prana Spa is a haven of rest and renewal in the heart of Seminyak.
- My honest experience: I admit that even though I had one of their most expensive packages, I didn’t feel relaxed during my spa treatment (considering I was so tired coming from the airport). Although I found the location appealing and a time for rest, I wasn’t particularly impressed with the quality I received based on my experience. Perhaps my high expectations stemmed from the spa’s popularity, or perhaps I had received spa treatments in numerous countries and knew what I wanted from a massage and what made me feel relaxed. Despite my experience, I would still recommend it since the staff were kind and you might have a different experience than I did.

- What to expect: Enjoy the peaceful outdoor dining experience surrounded by beautiful plants and traditional Balinese designs. This lovely Indonesian restaurant offers delicious traditional dishes in a charming ambiance.

36. Find peace at a yoga retreat
- Location: Intuitive Flow
- What to expect: The elevated location of the studio offers breathtaking views of the picturesque surroundings of Ubud, adding a sense of tranquility to the yoga practice. Doing yoga in Bali was a “good” different kind of experience. It’s a bit difficult yet rewarding. I had the opportunity to try Jamu, a traditional turmeric juice, from a juice vendor outside the place.

37. Visit the local market and try some Bali fruits and drinks
- Location: Pasar Badung Market
- What to expect: Try some Balinese fruits by going to a local market or roadside fruit stand. The lychee, longan, jackfruit, and rambutan are my favorites. In Bali, I had the opportunity to try durian and snake fruit for the first time. I apologize, but I didn’t enjoy those. Tip: Ask the sellers if you can try first before buying 🙂

- Location: Bali Brasco
- What to expect: Shop for Balinese bags and clothing and enjoy spa treatments afterward. I spent my last day here, where I got a complimentary massage at the nearby Mango Salon and Nail, which provides beauty services/treatments for a complete pampering experience, in addition to shopping. After some leisure, guests can unwind in the on-site restaurant.

41. Explore Alas Harum attractions
- Location: Alas Harum Bali
- What to expect: Visitors can enjoy a range of thrilling activities like sky biking, flying fox/zip line, jungle swings, and coffee tours while surrounded by stunning natural landscapes. Among other charming attractions in Alas Harum are the Glass Flooring, Dancing Bridge, Gorilla Cave, bird nests, and the well-known 19-meter Soekarno monument. Lastly, the restaurant offers breathtaking views of the tropical rice terraces.

– Summary –
Bali, Indonesia has one of the best beach views and is an ideal place to find peace. With its breathtaking scenery, vibrant energy, and rich cultural heritage, Bali has plenty to offer everyone, whether your passion is exploring local culture, trying savory food, chasing nature, or seeking new experiences!
For me, this is one of the countries where I found healing that I wasn’t even looking for, but I didn’t know I needed until I got there.
When I think about Bali, I think of calmness, mindfulness, and spiritual cleansing.
Traveling to Bali is definitely for everyone who wants to experience peace and island vibes while enjoying the breathtaking beaches and waterfalls, beautiful temples, enthralling rice terraces, and jungle rainforests with tropical mountain sceneries.
The beautiful swings, bird nests, sculptures, gates, and temples—all of which added to an incredible cultural experience—are my particular favorites, aside from the best beaches in Bali that are unmissable and unique.
